verse 1

शिवहरे शिवराम सखे प्रभो त्रिविधताप-निवारण हे विभो।

Śivahare Śivarāma sakhe prabho trividha-tāpa-nivāraṇa he vibho

O Shiva-Hari, O Shiva-Rama, O friend, O Lord, O remover of the three-fold afflictions, O all-pervading one,

अज जनेश्वर यादव पाहि मां शिव हरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥1॥

Aja janeśvara yādava pāhi māṃ śiva hare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

O unborn one, lord of all beings, O Yadava, protect me; O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

verse 2

कमल लोचन राम दयानिधे हर गुरो गजरक्षक गोपते।

Kamala-locana Rāma dayānidhe hara guro gaja-rakṣaka gopate

O lotus-eyed Rama, ocean of compassion, O Hara, O Guru, protector of the elephant (Gajendra), lord of the cowherds,

शिवतनो भव शङ्कर पाहि मां शिव हरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥2॥

Śivatano bhava śaṃkara pāhi māṃ śiva hare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

O one whose very body is Shiva, O Bhava, O Shankara, protect me; O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

verse 3

स्वजनरञ्जन मङ्गलमन्दिर भजति तं पुरुषं परं पदम्।

Svajana-rañjana maṅgala-mandira bhajati taṃ puruṣaṃ paraṃ padam

O delighter of your own devotees, abode of all auspiciousness -- whoever worships you attains the supreme state,

भवति तस्य सुखं परमाद्भुतं शिवहरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥3॥

Bhavati tasya sukhaṃ paramādbhutaṃ śivahare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

his happiness becomes supremely wondrous; O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

verse 4

जय युधिष्ठिर-वल्लभ भूपते जय जयार्जित-पुण्यपयोनिधे।

Jaya Yudhiṣṭhira-vallabha bhūpate jaya jayārjita-puṇya-payonidhe

Victory to you, beloved of Yudhishthira, O king; victory, victory to the ocean of merit earned by your devotees,

जय कृपामय कृष्ण नमोऽस्तुते शिव हरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥4॥

Jaya kṛpāmaya Kṛṣṇa namo'stute śiva hare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

victory, O compassionate Krishna, salutations to you; O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

verse 5

भवविमोचन माधव मापते सुकवि-मानस हंस शिवारते।

Bhava-vimocanamādhava māpate sukavi-mānasa haṃsa śivārate

O liberator from worldly existence, O Madhava, lord of Lakshmi, swan gliding in the minds of good poets, O one who delights together with Shiva,

जनक जारत माधव रक्ष मां शिव हरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥5॥

Janaka jārata mādhava rakṣa māṃ śiva hare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

O father [of all], O Madhava (wording of this epithet uncertain in the source), protect me; O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

verse 6

अवनि-मण्डल-मङ्गल मापते जलद सुन्दर राम रमापते।

Avani-maṇḍala-maṅgala māpate jalada sundara Rāma Ramāpate

O auspiciousness of the whole circle of the earth, lord of Lakshmi, beautiful as a raincloud, O Rama, lord of Rama (Lakshmi),

निगम-कीर्ति-गुणार्णव गोपते शिव हरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥6॥

Nigama-kīrti-guṇārṇava gopate śiva hare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

O ocean of virtues glorified by the Vedas, lord of the cowherds; O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

verse 7

पतित-पावन-नाममयी लता तव यशो विमलं परिगीयते।

Patita-pāvana-nāmamayī latā tava yaśo vimalaṃ parigīyate

The creeper of your name, which purifies the fallen, your spotless glory is sung on every side,

तदपि माधव मां किमुपेक्षसे शिव हरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥7॥

Tadapi mādhava māṃ kim-upekṣase śiva hare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

yet, O Madhava, why do you neglect me? O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

verse 8

अमर तापर देव रमापते विनयतस्तव नाम धनोपमम्।

Amara tāpara deva Ramāpate vinayatas tava nāma dhanopamam

O immortal, supreme god, lord of Rama (Lakshmi) -- humbly sought, your name is like a treasure (wording of the second epithet uncertain in the source),

मयि कथं करुणार्णव जायते शिव हरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥8॥

Mayi kathaṃ karuṇārṇava jāyate śiva hare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

O ocean of compassion, when will your mercy arise in me? O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

verse 9

हनुमतः प्रिय चाप कर प्रभो सुरसरिद्-धृतशेखर हे गुरो।

Hanumataḥ priya cāpa-kara prabho sura-sarid-dhṛta-śekhara he guro

O beloved of Hanuman, O bow-bearer, O Lord, O Guru who bears the celestial river (Ganga) upon your crest,

मम विभो किमु विस्मरणं कृतं शिव हरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥9॥

Mama vibho kimu vismaraṇaṃ kṛtaṃ śiva hare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

O all-pervading one, why have you forgotten me? O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

verse 10

नर हरेति परम् जन सुन्दरं पठति यः शिवरामकृतस्तवम्।

Nara hare'ti param jana sundaraṃ paṭhati yaḥ śivarāma-kṛta-stavam

Whoever among people recites this most beautiful hymn to Shiva-Rama, [thereby drawing near to] Hari,

विशति राम-रमा चरणाम्बुजे शिव हरे विजयं कुरू मे वरम्॥10॥

Viśati Rāma-ramā caraṇāmbuje śiva hare vijayaṃ kuru me varam

and enters into the lotus feet of Rama and Rama's Lakshmi; O Shiva-Hari, grant me the boon of victory.

phalashruti

प्रातरुत्थाय यो भक्त्या पठदेकाग्रमानसः।

Prātar-utthāya yo bhaktyā paṭhad-ekāgra-mānasaḥ

Whoever, rising in the morning, recites this with devotion and a one-pointed mind,

विजयो जायते तस्य विष्णुसान्निध्यमाप्नुयात्॥11॥

Vijayo jāyate tasya viṣṇu-sānnidhyam-āpnuyāt

victory comes to him, and he attains the nearness of Vishnu.
