verse 1

नमस्तेऽस्तु महामाये श्रीपीठे सुरपूजिते ।

Namaste'stu mahāmāye śrīpīṭhe surapūjite |

Salutations to You, Mahamaya, enthroned on the Shri-pitha, worshipped by the gods,

शङ्खचक्रगदाहस्ते महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते

Śaṅkhacakragadāhaste mahālakṣmi namo'stu te

conch, discus and mace in Your hands: Mahalakshmi, salutations to You.

verse 2

नमस्ते गरुडारूढे कोलासुरभयङ्करि ।

Namaste garuḍārūḍhe kolāsurabhayaṅkari |

Salutations to You, riding upon Garuda, terror of the asura Kola,

सर्वपापहरे देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते

Sarvapāpahare devi mahālakṣmi namo'stu te

remover of every sin, O Devi: Mahalakshmi, salutations to You.

verse 3

सर्वज्ञे सर्ववरदे सर्वदुष्टभयङ्करि ।

Sarvajñe sarvavarade sarvaduṣṭabhayaṅkari |

All-knowing, granter of every boon, terror of all the wicked,

सर्वदुःखहरे देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते

Sarvaduḥkhahare devi mahālakṣmi namo'stu te

remover of every sorrow, O Devi: Mahalakshmi, salutations to You.

verse 4

सिद्धिबुद्धिप्रदे देवि भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदायिनि ।

Siddhibuddhiprade devi bhuktimuktipradāyini |

Giver of siddhi and wisdom, O Devi, bestower of both worldly enjoyment and liberation,

मन्त्रमूर्ते सदा देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते

Mantramūrte sadā devi mahālakṣmi namo'stu te

You whose very form is mantra, O Devi eternal: Mahalakshmi, salutations to You.

verse 5

आद्यन्तरहिते देवि आद्यशक्तिमहेश्वरि ।

Ādyantarahite devi ādyaśaktimaheśvari |

Without beginning or end, O Devi, primal Shakti, great Sovereign,

योगजे योगसम्भूते महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते

Yogaje yogasambhūte mahālakṣmi namo'stu te

born of yoga, arisen out of yoga: Mahalakshmi, salutations to You.

verse 6

स्थूलसूक्ष्ममहारौद्रे महाशक्ति महोदरे ।

Sthūlasūkṣmamahāraudre mahāśakti mahodare |

Gross and subtle at once, terrible in Your great wrath, mighty Shakti whose womb holds the worlds,

महापापहरे देवि महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते

Mahāpāpahare devi mahālakṣmi namo'stu te

remover of the gravest sins, O Devi: Mahalakshmi, salutations to You.

verse 7

पद्मासनस्थिते देवि परब्रह्मस्वरूपिणि ।

Padmāsanasthite devi parabrahmasvarūpiṇi |

Seated on the lotus, O Devi, whose form is the supreme Brahman,

परमेशि जगन्माता महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते

Parameśi jaganmātā mahālakṣmi namo'stu te

supreme Sovereign, Mother of the world: Mahalakshmi, salutations to You.

verse 8

श्वेताम्बरधरे देवि नानालङ्कारभूषिते ।

Śvetāmbaradhare devi nānālaṅkārabhūṣite |

Clad in white, O Devi, adorned with many ornaments,

जगत्स्थिते जगन्मातर्महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते

Jagatsthite jaganmātarmahālakṣmi namo'stu te

abiding within the world, Mother of the world: Mahalakshmi, salutations to You.

महालक्ष्म्यष्टकस्तोत्रं यः पठेद्भक्तिमान्नरः ।

Mahālakṣmyaṣṭakastotraṃ yaḥ paṭhedbhaktimānnaraḥ |

The devoted person who recites this Mahalakshmi Ashtakam stotram

सर्वसिद्धिमवाप्नोति राज्यं प्राप्नोति सर्वदा ॥

Sarvasiddhimavāpnoti rājyaṃ prāpnoti sarvadā ||

attains every accomplishment and always comes into sovereignty.

एककाले पठेन्नित्यं महापापविनाशनम् ।

Ekakāle paṭhennityaṃ mahāpāpavināśanam |

Recited once each day, it destroys the gravest sins.

द्विकालं यः पठेन्नित्यं धनधान्यसमन्वितः ॥

Dvikālaṃ yaḥ paṭhennityaṃ dhanadhānyasamanvitaḥ ||

Whoever recites it twice a day is filled with wealth and grain.

त्रिकालं यः पठेन्नित्यं महाशत्रुविनाशनम् ।

Trikālaṃ yaḥ paṭhennityaṃ mahāśatruvināśanam |

Whoever recites it three times a day sees great enemies destroyed,

महालक्ष्मीर्भवेन्नित्यं प्रसन्न वरदा शुभा ॥

Mahālakṣmīrbhavennityaṃ prasanna varadā śubhā ||

and Mahalakshmi is ever pleased with him, granting boons, bringing good.
